I apologize for my tardiness in writing a post, but I have continued to have internet problems thanks in part to my last roommate :( Anyway, I will do my best to get you current on all the happenings here in CO! A special thanks to Mr. Joe for ALL the time he spent talking to Comcast and helping me get it all figured out!
I have been participating in some self-defense classes and have been enjoying them. At the last class, I learned "how to fall". I don't seem to have trouble with that as I experienced it over and over this summer on most of the curbs between my apartment and the school! My Braille is progressing, slowly, but surely. I have been learning contractions, and feel like I am finally beginning to grasp them, although because of my memory, I get them confused sometimes. This week we finally started woodshop! I am so excited about this class. The teacher that was here left and the last few weeks a new one was being trained. I will have the class twice a week. In the first class it was mainly instructional, but we learned about a measuring device which begins with 6 inches and then expands. I'm guessing I get my love for woodshop from my Grandpa Wilhelm-thanks Grandpa!
Last weekend I went to the Ralph's Saturday night and Sunday. Mrs. Diane and I went shopping to fill Operation Christmas Child boxes - and I filled two on my own. We had so much fun shopping and then putting the boxes together. I loved being able to participate in that wonderful ministry.
We had a Thanksgiving meal at school yesterday. Since Wednesday is my long period of Home Management, I was part of the group that made the meal. I peeled SO many potatoes....everything was very good, but I am SO blessed to have the opportunity to be going home for Thanksgiving thanks to a wonderful gift of an airline ticket. I am thankful for this opportunity I have to be at this school as difficult as it may be at times, but I am learning independence and with that comes the opportunity to go to college.
A Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
