Internet ordered!

Still from Janet...Saturday morning I called Emily on the apartment landline and Emily's roommate was there and wondered if I wanted to talk to her....I did and couldn't get off the phone!  She is 31, from Arizona, has a 11 year old daughter being cared for by Grandma and is recently engaged.  She has some vision and can see shadows, but is in the program because she will eventually lose it altogether.  I asked her about getting internet at the apartment and said Emily could pay the first month if she didn't have her computer yet.  She apparently called that day and Emily said they should have it by the end of the week!

The fundraiser on Saturday night sounded very successful.  She said they were expecting over 200 people and it seemed like that many were in attendance.  Several different restaurants had donated food, so there was a lot of sampling going on.  Our friends, the Beach's, picked her up after the event and brought her to their house overnight and to spend the day on Sunday.  The phone had been shipped to them and they spend much of Sunday afternoon trying to get the "talking" software on the new phone...unfortunately it never worked :(  Joe put her most important contacts (ME!) on speed-dial, so I can at least talk to her!  I told her to bring the phones (new and old) to school the next day and see if someone there could help her.  The keypad wasn't locking properly so she couldn't keep it in the case or it would dial out, so without that protection of a case, it got dropped on her way to school Monday morning.  John received a call yesterday and saw that it was Emily...but it was "Nathan" who had found her phone on a bridge on the way to the Center.  John explained the importance of the phone and where she went to school and he said he would bring it by there!!  Huge miracle-an honest human being!  It also is an older phone and wouldn't be worth much on ebay to someone else :)  All evening I kept trying to call her, and there was no answer.  Finally around 10:00 pm my time, I get a call from Emily on a friend's phone telling me she lost her phone.  I prayed with her that it would be brought to the center.  She said she had good news!  She had mentioned that she took some pictures over the summer and did some photography.  Yesterday they went to an art show where the pictures were displayed and for sale!  She said hers must have been the best because it was blown up the biggest and had the highest price on it!  She has a copy which I will get when I see her at the end of September.

I called the Center today over my lunch hour and was told that the phone did arrive yesterday, but they didn't give it to Emily until today...I may need to have a "come to Jesus" moment with them because that thought process of waiting to deliver the goods just isn't working for me!  BUT, she now has her phone again although it isn't real helpful without the talking software and the internet is coming...
